Equation:
P= (L + allowance) x (W+ allowance) 4Here,
P= Fabric Consumption for pant
L= Length of the out seam measurement including waist band= 40, Bottom hem seam allowance = 2’’; Waist band seam allowance= 1’’; Sewing allowance= 1’’
W=Thigh width= 13’’, inseam allowance =1’’, out seam allowance= 1’’.
Let’s have a calculation for body fabric:
Fabric consumption for trouser / dozen = (L + allo ) x (W + allo) 4 x12= (40 + 4) x (13 + 2) 4 x 12 sq. inch
= 44 x 15 x 4 x 12 sq. inch
= 2640 x 12 Sq. Inch = 31680 sq. Inch
Fabric consumption for pocketing:
Here,L = length of the pocket = 10’’
W= Width of the pocket = 6’’
= {(L+ 1) X (W+1) X Number of pockets} X 12
= {(10 + 1) X (6 + 1) X 3} 12
= (11 X 7 X 3) 12
= 2772 sq. inch
Total fabric consumption / dozen = (31680 + 2772) = 34452 sq. inch
If we consider the width of fabric = 60 inch
Then marker width = 59, therefore
Fabric required = 34452/ 59 = 584.02 inch/ dozen
= 584.02 / 36= 16. 22 Yds. / Dozen.
Total fabric consumption with waste percentage:
=16.22 yds. / Dozen + 8 % wastage= 17.51 yds. / Dozen.
Result:
Total fabric consumption 17.51 Yds. / Dozen of trouser
thanks so much Mr Rahman I have short question P= (L + allowance) x (W+ allowance) 4
ReplyDeletewhat is 4 representing on the formula
Dear Each Leg contains two fabric panel
ReplyDeleteSo two leg needs 4 panel,thus the whole formula is multiplied by 4.
